Jade Thirlwall has sparked a frenzy of excitement among fans by hinting she has collaborated with Calvin Harris for a new song.
The 29-year-old Little Mix star is expected to launch her very own solo singing career this year following the conclusion of her current tour with her band.
The group are going on hiatus following the current The Confetti Tour which will climax on Saturday 14 May in London with bandmates Jade, Perrie Edwards, 28, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30, expected to go their separate ways.
Jade has already signed a record deal with RCA Records to launch her own solo career and now speculation is rife she has also lent her vocals to Calvin Harris’ upcoming new album.
Excitement was ignited this week when Calvin, 38, teased his new record, sharing a photo of himself on Instagram wearing a pink shirt and flanked by flamingos.
He wrote: “Funk Wav Bounces Vol.2 COMING SOON” – referencing the long awaited sequel to his 2017 Vol 1 album.
Jade was among the first to react to Calvin’s post, writing in the comments section: “We’re ready” – along with a flamingo emoji.
Fans of both musicians leapt on the exchange to suggest the pair had been working together.

One fan wrote eagerly: “that's suspicious” along with a pair of eyes emojis.
Another suspiciously wrote: “wait a minute..”
And another more directly asked: “possible collab in the works?”
While Jade is signed to RCA, Calvin is signed with Columbia – however both labels are owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
Calvin wouldn’t be the only DJ Jade is collaborating with, as Jax Jones previously claimed he had recorded a track with the Little Mix star.
He said in an interview at the end of last year: “I was in the studio with Jade and she is mega-cool and super-talented. She is also such fun to be around.
“We wrote something really cool so hopefully that can come out too.”
A source backed up Jax’s claims, adding at the time: “Jade’s been working super-hard on the new music and those who have heard the tracks say they sound amazing.
“Jade has already met with Sony to talk things through but has really been impressed by Atlantic, and all signs point to her going with them. She has held top-secret talks with them and it’s all really positive.”
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Jade had signed with the same management team as Grammy Award Winning singer Lizzo to help plot her solo success.
An industry source said last November: “Jade had a series of meetings with Full Stop Management earlier this year and she’s now signed on the dotted line.
“They think she is going to be a huge star, just like Harry has become after One Direction went on hiatus.
“Jade has bags of ideas for her solo music and she’s already recorded some amazing songs that have impressed industry bosses.
“As well as music she is putting plans into motion for more TV appearances and there is no doubt she can become a mega-star in her own right.”
