As WWE 2K26 introduces new AI character sequences and drops last-gen console support, there is some hope that we’ll get a noticeable upgrade in graphics. The gameplay trailer looked pretty cool, and there are a lot of new features to look forward to. However, WWE’s very own Jade Cargill (SmackDown Women’s Champion) has called out 2K for using her outdated gear.
The replies below that Twitter/X post point out a ton of better outfits that 2K could have gone with. Most notably, a lot of people wanted to see Cargill’s all-black attire from Elimination Chamber 2025. With the release date just one month out, it doesn’t look likely that they’ll change this.
Is It Really An Outdated Character Model?
Technically speaking, Cargill’s character model itself isn’t “outdated.” The issue seems to be surrounding the gear she’s using. In the trailer, she’s wearing an older pair of gear, rather than some of the more recent looks she’s used, be it the aforementioned all-black Elimination Chamber attire, or the gold attire she wore at WrestleMania. Either way, Cargill wants a refreshed look in 2K26.
Jade Cargill fans aren’t exactly happy either:
“It would’ve made sense for 2K26’s gear to be your 2K25 gear considering your TAG TEAM PARTNER Bianca Belair’s 2K25 gear was RED”
Now, to be clear, this isn’t the biggest deal and not a direct indictment of “outdated” graphics. It could simply be a weird design choice or them not paying enough attention to what Cargill and her fans want. But it is a bit worrying. How many more superstars are going to have attire that doesn’t fit the latest live events?
We’ll no doubt have plenty of blame to go around if that’s the case. Until then, it is undeniable that 2K26 is shaping up to be a great game on paper. It has four new match types, improvements to MyGM and Universe Mode, and the new AI sequences thing. There’s also a new “Ringside Pass,” which completely replaces traditional DLC purchases in favor of seasonal updates. WWE 2K26 is set to release on March 13, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
