Influencer friendships aren’t exactly famed for subtlety, and the recent tension between Jacquie Alexander and Gabi Sullivan is no exception, catching the interest of social media watchers across Australia.
Rumours of a falling out between the pair started circulating early last year, and months later, neither influencer is doing anything to quieten the rumours…in fact, they’re both adding fuel to the fire.
What happened between Gabi Sullivan and Jacquie Alexander?
Two days ago, Gabi posted a a selfie to TikTok with the on-screen text “deciding whether to stay hot and sexy or get pregnant in 2026..”
She captioned the post “adult decisions are hard”. Completely harmless, right?
Just yesterday, Jacquie posted the exact same TikTok.
While we can’t say whether Jacqui is deliberately copying Gabi or poking fun at her, the timing of both posts is interesting…
When a TikTok user commented “Girl Gabi must be living rent free in your head” on Jacquie’s post, Jacquie was quick to respond with “I have that person blocked.”
So, the gals clearly aren’t on good terms.
When another TikTok user commented that she thought Jacquie was “going to do a tell all”, Jacquie responded and said “I might do a Stephen Demarco and sit on it for seven years first”. So does that mean we’re gonna have to wait over half a decade to finally hear what went down between the two from Jacquie’s perspective?
A tense history
Last September, Jacquie posted a TikTok with the words “what happened to the trio” written over a video with fellow influencer Rahnee Bransby, set to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” with the lyrics “oh boy”. While not naming anyone directly, the video sparked speculation about changes in the influencers’ friendship group.
Gabi responded a day ago with her own TikTok featuring the text: “Some people will never forgive you for what they did to you. Read that again.”
When asked in the comments to “spill the Jacquie tea”, Gabi claimed, “She got black out at my wedding, yelled at me in front of my entire family and made me cry. Obviously after that our friendship never recovered.
“I’m just trying to move on with my life. We are literally grown adults and it’s SO sad and embarrassing some girls thrive on drama.”
PEDESTRIAN.TV has reached to both Gabi and Jacquie for comment. Gabi decided not to comment while Jacquie wanted to “set the record straight”.
“I did not yell at Gabi’s wedding, nor did I ruin her day. We continued to remain friends post her wedding day. There is a deeper problem and level of the story which is missing and as anyone who has been in a toxic friendship would completely understand,” she told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“Sometimes people aren’t meant to be friends and that’s simply what’s happened here. In the end, it wasn’t healthy for the both of us and that’s why it ended. Which had already happened once before but I chose to forgive her and try again.
“These accusations are false and hurtful. What has been more upsetting is the … public shaming directed at me since. I have always respected that it was Gabi’s special day, and I would never want to take away from that. But respect goes both ways. I will not stand by silently while my character is attacked.”
The signs have been there for a while
Earlier last year, Influencer Updates AU pointed out the pair had unfollowed each other, mentioning it on their TikTok and referencing the Happy Hour podcast that “two influencer friends” had fallen out, later linking it to competitiveness around weddings — Gabi’s recent wedding and Jacquie’s plans for her own.
Reddit users also noticed that Jacquie was the ‘unofficial’ maid of honour at Gabi’s wedding not long ago, but now there’s no sign of any photos together and several joint posts seem to have disappeared from Instagram. There’s also no longer any public interaction on each other’s accounts.
What’s clear is that Jacquie and Gabi do not follow each other and aren’t interacting publicly. Both have made social media posts implying strain and as with many online stories, some details remain private — but it seems the once close friendship has ended and neither is trying to hide it.
