Tory grandee Jacob Rees-Mogg enjoys a day out watching Downton Abbey – before packing his brood into a vintage Bentley.
The father-of-six was spotted climbing into the 1968 T-Series after a cinema screening of the franchise’s New Era movie.
Onlookers claim Mogg even stood to salute God Save The King during the 11am show at Hengrove Cineworld, in Bristol.
After leaving by a side door, Mogg, 52, piled his wife, Helena de Chair, 45, and three of his kids into the back of the grey £20,000 motor before heading home.
The Brexit minister was spotted alongside his eldest son, Peter Theodore Alphege, who is affectionately known as “mini-Mogg” for sharing his father’s sartorial style.
Mogg – who faced criticism for claiming he was “enormously environmentally friendly” by driving historic motors – has previously boasted of his collection of luxury vintage motors.
The North East Somerset MP’s 1968 Bentley was first purchased by Sir Gubby Allen, the renowned cricketer who captained England in 11 Test matches.
Following his death in 1989, Gubby’s papers went on sale at an auction attended by Jacob’s father, a former Editor of The Times and a collector of rare books.
It was there that he saw Gubby’s old car for sale and contacted the then 23-year-old Jacob about a potential purchase.
In an interview in 2016, Mogg said: “Neither my father nor I knew anything about cars, but we dutifully looked under the bonnet and there was an engine there but beyond that, our technical skills were not very great.
“I bid for it and got it and then realised that enjoying the car was probably going to cost almost as much as buying it.”
Meanwhile world heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, 33, toasted his sixth-round knock-out of Dillian Whyte by stepping out with his kids in matching red tracksuits.
The image was posted by Fury’s wife, Paris, just days after he announced his retirement from boxing after returning to his home in Morecambe, Lancs.
Tyson, 32, shared the snap to his Instagram and wrote: “The only things we truly have is moments in time, how will u spend yours?”
Sharing the snap on his Instagram Stories, the professional boxer added: “Lovely day out with the fam.”
Tyson and Paris are parents to Venezuela, 12, Prince John James, nine, Prince Tyson II, five, Valencia, four, and Prince Adonis Amaziah, three, and Athena, eight months.
