Jacob Rees-Mogg has confirmed that he will be joining GB News to host his own programme.
In a video, the former Cabinet minister and North East Somerset MP said GB News has become a “bastion of free speech” since it was launched in 2020.
The new show will see the former minister debate the topics of the day while regularly broadcast in front of live audiences across the country.
Mr Rees-Mogg, who regularly appears on the channel added: “GB News is a bastion of free speech which clearly has its finger uniquely on the pulse of public opinion and does not talk down to its viewers and listeners.
“I have been impressed by the channel’s independent-mindedness and its determination to talk to people with many different perspectives, which is exactly what I will do on my programme."
Although further details of the new programme are set to be announced in recent weeks, GB News’ editorial director, Mick Booker said the Tory MP has an “authentic and authoritative voice” which will be a “terrific addition” to the channel.
He added: “He's a terrific addition to the GB News family.
“The programme will embrace a range of guests and viewpoints from all sides of politics but will also explore some of Jacob's other wide-ranging interests.
“No doubt classic cars and good Somerset cider will feature at some point.”
Mr Rees-Mogg joins fellow MPs Esther McVey and Dehenna Davison who both feature on the channel.
