Jackson Suber is an American professional golfer who secured his PGA Tour card after finishing in the top 30 of the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour standings. He was unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight when he was named as the replacement for the 2021 US Open champion Jon Rahm for the 2024 edition of the Major at Pinehurst No.2. Find out more about his life and career below…

1. Suber was born on 18 October 1999 in Tampa, Florida.

2. He went to Plant High School and led the golf team to a state championship in 2016. 

3. He played collegiate golf at Ole Miss (the University of Mississippi), where he finished ninth on the 2022 PGA Tour University Ranking and finished his senior year as a second team All American. He won five times during his college career and was a 2022 All-America Second Team selection. 

4. He played the 2022 season on the PGA Tour Canada, before joining the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023, where he finished No.37 on the points list in his rookie season.

5. He made his PGA Tour debut at the 2022 Valspar Championship, where he missed the cut.

6. He earned his PGA Tour card after finishing 20th in the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour standings, thanks to back-to-back top-three finishes and three other top 10s.

7. Suber is yet to win as a professional since turning pro in 2022.

8. Suber was a first alternate for the 2024 US Open after winning a three-man playoff for the spot in final qualifying.

9. He replaced Jon Rahm in the Major after the 2021 champion withdrew with a foot injury. He took full advantage of his opportunity with a 69 in his opening round at Pinehurst No.2 in a group with 2020 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama and three-time Major winner Jordan Spieth. He would end up making the cut and finishing in 73rd.

10. His career high on the Official World Golf Ranking is 169th.

11. Suber was a keen basketball fan as a youngster, but eventually turned to golf. He now counts ice hockey as a favorite sport away from golf, and is a supporter of Tampa Bay Lightning in the NFL.

12. His hobbies include wakeboarding and hunting.

13. A Florida native, Suber attended the Valspar Championship five times as a kid. He also attended the Players Championship once.

14. He has earned over $620,000 in his career prior to joining the PGA Tour.

15. His sponsors include Titleist, FootJoy and Twain Capital.
