Deion Sanders has Jackson State marching toward an undefeated season.
The Tigers took another step on Saturday, defeating Campbell, 22-14.
This game was different than others as it saw Jackson State in a tussle rather than its familiar offensive outbursts.
Still, the Tigers found a way to win despite struggling inside the Campbell red zone.
Jackson State settled for a trio of field goals on trips inside the Camels’ 10.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a solid, if unspectacular game, going 23-of-31 for 231 yards and a TD.
Four of those passes went to heralded freshman Travis Hunter, who missed the previous five games. Those receptions went for 24 yards.
The Camels were limited to 247 yards of total offense by a staunch Tigers defense.
There was a celebrity in attendance to watch Coach Sanders’ team:
Up next for JSU is a game against Southern.
