Australian basketball legend Lauren Jackson notched another statistical milestone while guiding the Southside Flyers to a crucial 81-78 road win over the Sydney Flames as the WNBL finals race heats up.
Jackson scored 15 points in an influential display for the Flyers on Sunday and moved into the top 10 on the league's all-time scoring list.
The 42-year-old, who retired from international basketball this month after helping the Opals qualify for the Paris Olympics, has 4162 points from 201 WNBL games in a career spanning 26 years.
But she is still well short of all-time leading scorer and former Opals teammate Suzy Batkovic (5843).
Jackson was far from a lone hand in Southside's stunning reversal against Sydney, which followed a 21-point drubbing from the same opponent in the previous round.
Mercedes Russell (18 points) and Leilani Mitchell (15) were also prominent in delivering a result that kept the Flyers (12-7) second on the ladder with just one round left in the regular season.
Sydney dropped to fourth after a loss that came despite 20-point hauls from Lauren Nicholson and Didi Richards.
The Flames have been leapfrogged by Bendigo Spirit, who completed a road double with a stunning 93-60 thumping of defending champions and ladder leaders Townsville Fire on Sunday.
Ally Wilson (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Kelsey Griffin (21 points, 14 rebounds) were outstanding for the Spirit as the visitors held Townsville to just 23 points in the second half.
It was the Fire's lowest score of the season on their home floor.
Chasing their first finals appearance since 2015, Bendigo opened round 14 with an 85-77 win over the UC Capitals.
They are locked in a tight battle for top-four spots with Sydney and the fifth-placed Melbourne Boomers with one round left to play.
All three teams have 11-9 records, while the Perth Lynx (10-10) are also still in the finals hunt after snapping a five-game losing streak with their 94-79 win over the Capitals on Sunday.
Anneli Maley put up huge numbers with 17 points, 20 rebounds and eight assists, with Aari McDonald (24 points) leading all scorers.
