Tasmania JackJumpers coach Scott Roth has inked a contract extension after taking the NBL club to a final series in their debut season.

Roth will remain in the role until the end of the 2024-25 competition, with a mutual option for a further year.

He was signed to the new NBL franchise on a two-year deal and was named coach of the year after the JackJumpers' against-the-odds runs to the playoffs.

"Scott has built an incredible foundation that has unified not only a great group of guys, but the entire state in supporting the club in its infancy," chief executive Simon Brookhouse said.

"On behalf of the entire club - players, coaching staff, front office, partners and members - we are really pleased to secure Scott's signature and have him at the helm for the next three seasons.

"It gives us stability as we move into year two and beyond, with the majority of our playing squad also locked in."

Tasmania became the first NBL team to make the top-four in a debut season, before going down 3-0 to the Sydney Kings in the best-of-five grand final series.

American Roth recently revealed he almost stepped away from the job before the season began because of homesickness.
