Jack Simpson has left Rangers for a move back down south of the border.
The Light Blues defender joined the club under previous boss Steven Gerrard from Bournemouth but found game-time very limited after being unable to nail down a regular starting slot in the Ibrox backline.
He has now left the club on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee with Cardiff City. Rangers have confirmed his exit from the club just hours before their crunch Champions League return with Union Saint-Gilloise as they bid to reach the play-off round of the competition with one of Monaco or PSV awaiting the winner. The Belgians go into the return showdown with a two-goal lead after a 2-0 win in last week's first leg.
