Jack Osbourne spoke candidly about his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis (MS) and revealed he doesn't feel everyone completely understands the disease.
The reality TV star, 36, was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago, just three weeks after the birth of his daughter.
And he has revealed in an honest interview with TalkTV that he actually lost his job shortly after his diagnosis.
He said: "I did lose a job. At one point, shortly after my initial diagnosis, they were worried that I wouldn't have been able bodied enough.
"That comes down to a lot of people not really understanding what MS is. And, as I like to say it's as unique to the individual that has it, as their own fingerprint.
"I might meet someone who's the same age as me who got diagnosed the same day as me and our symptoms could be drastically different."
He went on to discuss how he felt there was a distinct lack of public understanding over the illness - including the fact he wasn't fully clued up on it when first diagnosed.
"The only thing I knew about MS was that Richard Pryor had died from it," he admitted.
"And that Montel Williams had it. That was it. I didn't know anyone personally who had it. Or at least I wasn't aware that anyone that I knew had it.
"And I just had no idea what it affected."
Jack said that although the figures show approximately 130,000 people suffer from MS in the UK, he believes this number could be inaccurate and he thinks it could in fact be a much higher number.
He added: "You know, the guesstimate is that around the world, 2.5 million people have it. If that was the case, you would rarely meet someone with MS. I meet someone probably, you know, twice a month, if not more.
"And this is a you know, it's an autoimmune disease that is very much around and is not going away. And the more research, the more people that know about it, the better.
"You know, this is something that a lot of people like myself have to live with. And it's not the best."
Elsewhere in his chat with the channel, Jack said his dad Ozzy Osbourne was "doing well" after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
"I spoke to him shortly before coming in. He just says hello. I'll save the colourful language, but he says it sucks."
