Jack Osbourne claims to have experienced paranormal activity at his childhood home, causing him to hide under the bed until mum Sharon Osbourne returned home.
The 36-year-old celebrity ghost hunter had been off school sick with his sister Kelly Osbourne when they heard terrifying sounds in the Grade II-listed home, which was once a hospital for the mentally ill.
The siblings were "convinced" someone was coming to attack them and considered escaping out the window, but instead hid until they thought it was safe.
Jack has now returned to Buckinghamshire to hunt down ghosts for his new Discovery+ show Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming, reliving his childhood experience.
Speaking on the show, he said: "When Kelly and I were kids, we were off school through illness and home alone. We were watching TV in my parents’ bedroom.
"The floorboard on that landing makes a very distinct sound and we heard someone walking along – very heavy-footed."
The TV personality said the footsteps were walking towards the room he was in.
He added: "Whatever was making those footsteps was rattling the cupboard doors along the corridor. We were so convinced the footsteps were coming for us, we opened a window and thought about jumping."
Jack and Kelly, 37, instead hid under the bed while trying to figure out what the sound was.
The home - Welders House in the village of Jordans - was built in 1899 for the politician Charles Thomson Ritchie by his son-in-law Mervyn McCartney.
The house was later sold and used as a convalescent home for “women with mild nervous maladies” from 1911 to 1916. After World War One, it was loaned by the Home Office for Army nurses with what we now call PTSD.
Jack said: "My first response was, 'See, I did grow up in a madhouse'."
Even one of Jack's sceptical friends claims to have encountered ghosts at the property.
"He and his wife were staying at Welders and heard a piano playing and a woman singing – but nobody was there. The following morning they shared what they heard with each other.
"That’s two independent witnesses both hearing the same thing at the same time," Jack said.
Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming is available to stream from Sunday on Discovery+.
