Football star Jack Grealish has admitted he would “absolutely love” to appear on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly reached out to the Premier League footballer, revealing fans have been calling for him to join a future series of the ITV show.
“I think Jack Grealish would be very, very good,” McPartlin said in a clip shared on the Geordie stars’ joint TikTok on Friday.
“I asked Jack Grealish if he would go on the show. I said people have been suggesting him and this is what he said,” Donnelly added, before sharing a personal message from Grealish on his phone.
In the video, the Manchester City and England winger, 29, responded: “Hey guys, Jack here. I’ve heard a few of you guys want to see me in the jungle.
“I can’t lie it’s something I would absolutely love to do. It’s a show that I’ve watched for years since I was little. A show that I love.”
He went on: “I don’t know how I’d get on in there, I don’t think I’d be the best to be honest, but I’d give it a go.”
Grealish added that he probably won’t be able to enter the Australian jungle anytime soon, saying his Man City boss, Pep Guardiola, “wouldn’t be too happy if I ended up in there this year”.
The pro footballer teased: “But, never say never, it could happen one day.”
The video then cut back to an excited McPartlin and Donnelly in the jungle, with McPartlin pretending to swoon and exclaiming: “Oh my God! I fainted! Jack Grealish!”
The starstruck hosts then broke into a rowdy version of the football chant, “We Love You, Grealish, We Do.”
Grealish wouldn’t be the first high-profile footballer to take on the jungle challenge on I’m A Celebrity.
Over the years, former players such as David Ginola, Ian Wright, Neil Ruddock, Jimmy Bullard, Kieron Dyer, Wayne Bridge, and Dennis Wise have all braved the trials of the camp.
The current series of I’m A Celebrity, which began last weekend, includes stars such as Coleen Rooney, Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, and McFly singer Danny Jones.
Love Island alum Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles joined the jungle as late arrivals on Thursday.
