Jack Dorsey, founder and former CEO of Twitter, reiterated his support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democratic presidential candidate.
Kennedy, like Donald Trump prior to his presidency, never held political office for his run for the highest political office.
Biden held political office for 36 years as a U.S. senator representing Delaware and 8 years as Vice Preisdent of the United States.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Breaking Points, Dorsey broke his silence on his surprising endorsement for Kennedy, stating that the candidate is dedicated to achieving peace and ending ongoing wars.
Dorsey also highlighted Kennedy’s commitment to addressing issues like “regulatory capture and the military-industrial complex.”
Kennedy, an environmental lawyer, a Bitcoin supporter, and a well-known anti-vaccine advocate, is vying for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2024 White House race.
Dorsey expressed admiration for Kennedy’s willingness to explore controversial and forward-thinking topics, stating that he fearlessly delves into subjects that others might shy away from.
“He has no fear in exploring topics that are a little bit controversial and in the future,” the tech entrepreneur said.
Dorsey also happens to be the CEO of fintech firm Block Inc (NYSE:SQ), which generates Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) revenue when it buys and then sells BTC to its customers, through its Cash App.
“As president, I will make sure that your right to hold and use Bitcoin is inviolable,” Kennedy said, describing the leading cryptocurrency as “a bulwark against precisely this kind of government and corporate expansion and intrusion.”
Earlier this month, Dorsey publicly showed his support for Kennedy as the next U.S. president, saying that “he can and will” beat Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis.
As of now, Kennedy is polling second behind President Joe Biden for the 2024 Democratic nomination. Additionally, Kennedy recently engaged in a wide-ranging interview on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk, where he voiced support for anti-vaccine conspiracy theories and emphasized the importance of freedom of speech.
As of current, Biden’s approval rating is at 40% due to the aspects of economy, crime, and immigration sit at the top of the voter list.
Dorsey retweeted a video about Kennedy as the candidate to beat Trump in the general election.
“The DNC would never allow that, are you kidding??” The former Twitter CEO responded by saying, “True but they seem to be more irrelevant by the day.”
