Jack Clarke ‘can’t wait to get started’ after Tottenham loan exit

Tottenham have allowed Jack Clarke to join Sunderland on loan for the rest of the season.

While still only 21, the former Leeds United youngster has only ever played four games for Spurs’ senior side amid a flurry of loan spells to the like of Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City.

This season, Clarke has only been included in one senior matchday squad, instead making 18 appearances for Spurs’ U23 side, scoring four times and registering five assists.

Now, he will join a Sunderland side fighting for promotion, sitting second in League One on goal difference behind leaders, Wigan Athletic.

“I can’t wait to get started,” he told Sunderland’s official website.

“I’m from this part of the world, so I know this is a massive club and what it means to the fans. I’m looking forward to playing at the Stadium of Light and the prospect of being part of the team that takes the club back to the Championship.

“I want to help the team as much as possible, whether that’s goals or assists, and ensure we reach that end goal.”
