Jack Broadbent has offered the clearest hint yet he has played his final match for Leeds Rhinos. The centre completed a loan move to Championship side Featherstone Rovers on Monday for the remainder of the current season.
With Broadbent's current Leeds deal set to expire at the end of 2022 and a move to Castleford Tigers next year believed to be nearing completion, it seemed that Rhinos fans would not see Broadbent feature for the club ever again. And that belief has only been further intensified by the player himself, who took to social media in the aftermath of his move to Featherstone.
He said it was the 'right time to move on' from Leeds, seemingly closing the door on his Headingley career ahead of a likely switch across West Yorkshire in 2023 to Lee Radford's side.

Commenting on Instagram, Broadbent said: "What a rollercoaster it has been! I’ve been at the club 7 years and made so many amazing memories and friends that I’ll have for life. Would just like to say thank you to @leedsrhinos for the opportunities they have given me but feel it’s the right time to move on for me to keep moving forward, I wish the boys nothing but the best.
"I’m just looking forward to what the future holds and can’t wait to get stuck in @fevroversrlfc till the end of the year".
Broadbent has struggled for game-time at Leeds in 2022 despite an initially promising breakthrough into the Rhinos' first-team after progressing through the Academy system.
He will now link up with former Leeds coach Brian McDermott in the Championship and become part of Featherstone's bid to join the top flight, before switching clubs again in the off-season to move to Castleford in search of regular first-team rugby in Super League.
