NAGPUR: The Jabalpur High Court on Wednesday rapped the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for not filing a reply in the public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the unauthorised widening of NH-46 (Betul-Obedullaganj) in the wildlife corridor patches between Satpura and Melghat tiger reserves.
Based on TOI reports filed since December, the PIL was filed by Amravati conservationist Adwait Keole in the Jabalpur High Court. He sought a stay on road construction till the authorities incorporate adequate safeguards to protect tigers and other animals which traverse on the known and established wildlife corridor.
