Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase left Saturday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings with a shoulder injury that remained enshrouded in mystery in the hours after the game.
Sunday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport provided a small update, revealing that Chase suffered an AC joint sprain and that while more testing still needs to be done, there’s a sense that he could merely be day-to-day and even possibly play next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That’s a big sigh of relief for Bengals fans who watched Chase get quickly ruled out with the injury on Saturday, almost seemingly at random, before he reappeared on the sideline in street clothes.
Despite leaving the game, Chase still paced all Bengals weapons in receiving by catching all four of his targets for 64 yards. The 8-6 Bengals, as of this writing, have a playoff spot, but will need to keep winning and having Chase on the field will be a deciding factor in the remaining three games.
