One of the most distinctive – and divisive – fashion trends, Maison Margiela’s Tabi shoes are dominating this summer. Spotted on Kylie Jenner, Zendaya and Dua Lipa, the Tabi’s start from £820, but I’ve found a high street alternative that offers the same statement style for £700 less.
The split-toe shoe burst onto the scene in 1988, when it appeared in Martin Margiela’s debut Paris Fashion Week collection. During the memorable showcase, his models walked through red paint, leaving split-toe footprints on the white runway.
