Ivanovic strikes overseas deal, joins Glory exodus

The exodus at Perth Glory has continued, with attacker Luke Ivanovic the latest player to leave the A-League club after securing a move overseas.

Glory confirmed on Monday that Ivanovic had departed by mutual consent to take up a yet-to-be-revealed overseas deal.

It has been rumoured Ivanovic will end up in Finland.

The 23-year-old forward made 24 appearances at Glory over the past two seasons, including 13 this campaign for just one goal.

His departure continues a recent trend of exits at cash-strapped Glory, who are still on the lookout for new owners after the deal by a Primeland Group consortium to buy the club spectacularly fell over in November.

Perth were left fuming in January when they were forced by Australian Professional Leagues to loan Salim Khelifi to rivals Melbourne Victory for the rest of the season, because of a lack of funds.

Glory's bid to continue Oliver Bozanic's loan deal also fell through for the same reason, and Aaron McEneff also left in January to return to Ireland to play for the Shamrock Rovers.

Fringe fullback Joseph Forde joined Irish outfit Waterford, but defender Josh Rawlins joined Glory on a free loan from Dutch side FC Utrecht.

Despite the off-field turmoil and spate of departures, Glory have secured seven points from their past three games to keep their A-League Men finals hopes alive.

Their most recent win was a gutsy 4-2 triumph over Melbourne City at HBF Park.

Glory, six points adrift of sixth spot, will be back in action on Friday when they take on Adelaide at Coopers Stadium.
