ITV2 Love Island's Casa Amor recoupling 'shocks' contestants in first look

Love Island 2023 is set for an explosive recoupling as Casa Amor comes to an end. In scenes set to air on Thursday, February 16, host Maya Jama returns to the South African villa as the Islanders approach crunch time.

The 28-year-old presenter's comeback was teased on Wednesday night in a 'tomorrow night' trailer that saw her standing in front of the fire pit in a dazzling red satin dress and asking the contestants whether they wanted to stick in the current couples or recouple with a Casa Amor bombshell.

In a first look at the Casa Amor recoupling, both villas receive a text bringing their time apart to an end. The girls at Casa Amor's message reads: "Girls, tonight there will be a recoupling in which you must decide whether you want to remain coupled with your partner back in the villa or recouple with one of the new boys #CasaNomore."

Meanwhile, at the main villa, the boys' message says: "Boys, tonight there will be a recoupling in which you must decide whether you want to remain coupled up with your girl who has been living in Casa Amor or recouple with one of the new girls #JudgementDay."

As the Islanders in the main villa anticipate the impending recoupling they all gather around the fire pit. Host Maya then makes a dramatic return, as she says: "Hello hunnies, how are you doing? Ok boys, stay where you are and girls come and line up next to me."

Maya tells the boys: "Casa Amor is the ultimate relationship test, it’s a test of trust. Do you trust that your girl has stayed loyal to you or do you think she will have strayed? I’m going to ask you one by one whether you want to stick with your current partner or whether you want to recouple with one of these girls standing right in front of you."

She adds: "The girls at Casa Amor have also been given the choice of whether they want to stick with you or recouple with one of the new boys. It’s time to make your decisions and also find out what the girls have chosen to do."

As the recoupling gets underway Casey O'Gorman is first to be asked to make his decision. He is currently coupled up with Claudia Fogarty but has been getting closer to Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo.

Casey admits: "It’s not been an easy decision at all…" And as the decisions continue, who is left buzzing, who is left shocked and who is left single?

The first look comes following reports that claimed a record-breaking amount of contestants have been booted off the show. A source told The Sun: "Reuniting the two villas was explosive - the recoupling will be a real shock. The tension was off the scale - viewers will be really surprised as to who choses who. It's an unmissable episode."

Casa Amor has been pretty dramatic so far, with many of the contestants appearing to have their heads turned by bombshells. The bombshells in question are Layla Al-Momani, 28, Sammy James, 27, Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo, 25, Sanam Harrinanan, 24, Lydia Karakyriakou, 22, and Lynda Flix, 22. While the boys are made up of Kain Reed, 21, Ryan Weekley, 22, Frankie Davey, 22, Maxwell Samuda, 23, Bayley Mummery, 25, and Martin Akinola, 27.

During last night's episode Kai Fagan, Tom Clare and Olivia Hawkins kissed Casa Amor bombshells Sanam, Lydia and Maxwell respectively. Casey has also been getting closer to Cynthia, and Will Young has shared kisses and a bed with Layla, although later admitted he regretted his decision and was "falling in love" with Jessie Waters.

Meanwhile, Tanya Mahenga, who has been coupled up with Shaq Muhammad since the first week with the pair exchanging I love yous, has been getting closer to Martin.
