Many ITV viewers were left unimpressed on Sunday night, as they tuned in to The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration, celebrating Her Majesty's royal milestone.
Commemorating the Queen's 70 years on the throne, the special star-studded event saw a range of stars and national treasures put on a show to celebrate her remarkable milestone.
But as proceedings kicked off, some fans were amazed to see Hollywood actor Tom Cruise on the line-up.
Presenters Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham couldn't believe they were sat right next to the Top Gun actor, as they interviewed him live on air.
Actor Cruise was confirmed to be a part of the celebrations, taking part in proceedings later on.
He shared his admiration for the Queen and her reign, and revealed it was an "honour" to have been asked to attend, and said there was no way he would have turned the opportunity down.
As the hosts waited for The Queen to make her arrival at Windsor Castle, they grilled the star on his meeting with the Queen's late husband Prince Philip.
But conversation soon turned to Cruise's career and his long list of movies, as well as his latest film Top Gun: Maverick.
With the presenters having a long chat with the acting legend about his movie career, some viewers loved the moment - but many others were left hitting out at the decision.
Many claimed the celebrations had turned into "The Tom Cruise Show" as they wanted more footage and interviews about the Queen, celebrating her remarkable reign.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer fumed: "Isn’t this programme meant to be about the Queen’s Jubilee? So why are we spending 15+ mins talking to Tom Cruise about his movies?!"
Another agreed: "ITV it’s more like the Tom cruise show," as a third said: "Is this the #queensjubilee celebration or the Tom Cruise show ffs, get him off."
A fourth viewer commented: "This ITV program is not what I thought. Why is Tom Cruise on plugging his movie? I thought this was a concert/pageant type thing to celebrate HM The Queen's long reign."
The comments kept coming in too, as another read: "Tom Cruise is getting more airtime, platitudes and PR from this event than The Queen is, we’ve spent more time talking Top Gun than we have about HM."
This was echoed by another viewer who said: "FFS @itv this is the Queens jubilee NOT a promo for Tom Cruise's New movie."
However, some viewers loved the interview with Cruise, and praised his love for the monarch.
One fan said: "Tom Cruise is just such a class down to earth bloke. His interview here is absolutely first class."
Another agreed: "Isn’t @TomCruise a lovely man. Such a respectful man, so humble." as a third added: "Well you brightened up my Sunday evening. And no doubt the people of #Windsor as you walked through."
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration is available to watch on ITV and ITV Hub.
