ITV Trigger Point star urges viewers to do one thing after episode complaints

One of the stars of new drama Trigger Point has urged viewers to do just one thing after the debut episode received complaints.

The ITV series began last Sunday (January 23) starring Vicky McClure and Adrian Lester and from Jed Mercurio, the brains behind Line of Duty and Bodyguard.

The six-part thriller revolves around the work of the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad during a summer bombing campaign.

And Trigger Point got off to a jumpy start when explosives officers Lana Washington (McClure) and Joel Nutkins (Lester) were called out to investigate a potential bomb factory in a London housing estate - but with no sign of the bomb makers.

Those tuning in to Trigger Point, however, found there was a major issue - the adverts.

But now, former Luther star Warren Brown, who is appearing as Karl Maguire in Trigger Point, has a message for those continuing on with the series.

And that's for them to 'put their phones down'.

Speaking to the Mirror, the former Hollyoaks actor said: "Put your phone down and just watch the thing and then tweet afterwards, because some of these things you need to pay attention to.

"At the same time, I know that that's what people are doing. People are watching TV with their phone in their hand."

Warren has also been in The Responder (BBC/Dancing Ledge/Rekha Garton)

But he did recognise that the series on ITV is broken up with advertising, leaving potentially more time to commentate online.

He concluded: "But times are changing - you just go with it."

TV fans will probably be quick to realise that Warren has recently been appearing on the BBC.

He has played Raymond Mullen in the broadcaster's latest drama The Responder alongside Martin Freeman who stars as Chris Carson.
