It was Scott and Dave who made it to the third round, when an answer to a question had some viewers casting their minds back to an emotional time, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Ben asked Dave: "What is the name of the popular handheld digital toy pet first released by Bandai in the late 1990s?"
He initially hesitated, saying the answer was "whizzing around in his head".
When he seemed to find the right word, he agreed to play the question, and answered "is it Tamagotchi?"
He had the right answer, and viewers went straight to Twitter to share their memories - with some seeming quite emotional.
Sharing a crying GIF, one Twitter user wrote: "I lost my Tamagotchi in a freezer in Sainsbury's when I was like 12 still makes me mad, kept it alive for months."
While another said: "Omg memories. I loved my Tamagotchi [sad-face emojis]."
The Tamagotchi was a toy released in the 90s that saw millions of children and adults caring for a digital pet on the handheld gadget.
Another Twitter user said: "Omg I had one of them and had no idea how to use it."
A fourth added: "No I was sooo disappointed when my Tamagotchi died."
You can watch Tipping Point on weekdays at 4pm on ITV as well as on the ITV Hub.
