This Morning viewers didn't know where to look as they tuned into the latest show as the programme underwent a huge transformation, one unlike they've seen before. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were 'swapped' on the ITV daytime show on Monday (October 31) for Wednesday Addams and Uncle Fester.
Phillip's turn as Uncle Fester was a sight to behold with Gyels Brandreth, dressed as Cousin Knit, a take on Cousin Itt presumably because of his array of jumpers, saying: "You’ve never looked more attractive," before the 60-year-old presenter admitted his transformation was so extreme his phone no longer recognised him on his Face ID.
Holly, Phillip and Gyles were also joined by Morticia Addams (Alison Hammond), Gomez (Steve Wilson), Kitty Kat (Matthew Wright), Pugsley Addams (Gok Wan) and Long John Addams (Dermot O’Leary) on the special edition of the show, full of spooky recipes, Halloween fashion, advice and a whole load of haunted happenings.
Scene-stealing butler Lurch (Josie Gibson) grunted his way through the show, opening doors, assisting and even singing and dancing to surprise guest and Mysterious Ghoul Peter Andre in an out of character moment.
Then Brocarde, a woman who’s marrying the ghost love of her life today, was visited on set by Victoria soldier Edwardo, who wreaked havoc on set, even potentially putting the afternoon wedding in jeopardy. Edwardo didn’t take too kindly to Phil when he asked him to move a script or show a sign he was there.
Cousin Crimp (The Speakmans) were alos on hand to give advice on phobias as diverse as moths and scary clowns while Carol Voldermort (Carol Vorderman) hadn’t got the Addams Family memo and popped in search of a boy wizard, so ran off to the Loose Women studio.
Also on the show, Cousin Bleak (Dr Sara) offered health advice, Granny Frump (Helen McGinn) shook up some frightening cocktails and Grandmama (Phil Vickery) finished the show by making a feast of thumb pie with blood mash.
Despite the This Morning team going all out for the annual sooky occasion, there was only one winner in viewers' eyes - and they didn't even recognise her at first. @geordiegalg tweeted: "Josie wins best make up & costume! #ThisMorning."
@PollyCracker92 said: "Josie is actually smashing it! An icon #ThisMorning." @johnnyhazell36 commented: "Josie has smashed today bravo Bristol babe bravo #thismorning. @missohlola laughed: "Josie as Lurch is creeping me the f**k out #thismorning." to which @selz_j replied: "If it wasn't for the voice I'd have no idea it was her!"
And @CaraDaveHamlet summarised: "@ThisMorning #ThisMorning 1- it took me a whole 5 mins to figure out the Lurch was Josie. B-No matter what costume/disguise @GylesB1 wears, he always looks like Ozzy Osbourne. 3- @AlisonHammond looks AMAZING!"
