ITV This Morning viewers make brutal claim over Cher performers as they join Oti Mabuse on show

This Morning viewers made their feelings very clear as the cast of a brand new show that tells the incredible story of singer Cher's meteoric rise to fame. Dancing On Ice judge and former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse was also on the ITV daytime show to chat to Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about The Cher Show as she's joined forces with Dame Arlene Phillips to bring the musical to theatres across the country.

Oti told the hosts a little about the musical, which she has choreographed and Dame Arlene has directed, but viewers had to wait to hear and see the performance from the group of singers from the show who joined them in the ITV studio for a live performance.

First though, the professional dancer turned TV star gave Alison and Dermot all that gossip as she prepares for her new solo tour I Am Here and her brand new singing-filled dating show, Romeo and Duet, which she's set to host. Then, talking about The Cher Show, Oti said it's "so amazing" to be part of the production as well as working with the "genius" that is Dame Arlene. She explained: "The show goes through Cher's life, including where she started and grew up, all the way up to the nineties when she was on The Cher Show and used to have all those Top of the Pops performances."

As Oti finished her interview with Dermot and Alison, three of the stage stars began to sing and gave viewers a taste of what they could expect at The Cher Show - which comes to the Manchester Opera House a whopping eight shows from May 17 to May 21.

The trio, who all dressed as the singing icon whose hits include Turn Back Time and Believe, then performed a medley of Cher songs, each taking it turns to blast out a tune. However, it didn't take long for This Morning fans to give their verdict on Twitter - with some making a brutal claim. @mdbaggy tweeted: "If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of people cancelling their tickets #ThisMorning."

"Man alive, my ears are bleeding after listening to thatcher karaoke, very nearly turned my TV over! #ThisMorning," @shirlsn19 commented. @davidmc2467 said: "#ThisMorning laughing at these Chers! I’m a huge fan of her, and they sound nothing like Cher. I think I’ll save my money on a ticket!! They were not amazing, they were so bad!"

"Oh no ! This ‘Cher’ show is a disaster #ThisMorning," @UzoObiorah commented. @Mancunian_Manx wrote: "#thismorning tbh that’s funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time So thank you for me cheering me up. RIP Cher."

"I’m not sure this is a good idea. People will be cancelling their tickets left, right and centre on the back of this horrendous singing. #ThisMorning," @Mabel_Mouse_ added.

But one viewer, @leeroydouche, dropped an almighty clanger when he tweeted: "What the Actual F have I just witnessed on #ThisMorning on @ITV @cher would turn in her grave if she had witnessed that performance #cher," and quickly got a flurry of replied telling him that Cher is very much still alive and well.
