Today marks 20 years since Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman lost their lives at the hands of evil killer Ian Huntley.
On August 4 2002, the friends disappeared from their town in Soham. The case captivated and horrified Britain, evoking an outpouring of national grief.
Appearing to help in the 13-day search for the girls was school caretaker, Huntley. He appeared on video clips all over the news as he tried to appear empathetic and helpful towards the families.

On August 17, nearly two weeks after they vanished, their bodies were found lying side by side and badly burned near RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. Huntley was later charged with the murders of both girls.
Today, on ITV's This Morning, Rochelle Humes and Vernon Kay opened up a discussion on the heinous crime. While talking about the impact that the girls' deaths had on the nation, the show cut to a clip of Huntley putting on his innocent act.
Viewers were horrified to see his face pop up and took to Twitter to complain. Peter said: "Did they really have to show a video clip of that murdering monster?"
Another user said: "Absolutely disgusted #thismorning just showed that clip of that evil scum." Meanwhile, Gregory said: "Why show him??? Poor form #ThisMorning"
Huntley was convicted of the murders and handed two life sentences with a minimum term of 40 years, while his partner, Maxine Carr, was jailed for three-and-a-half after she was found guilty of perverting the course of justice. The judge, Mr Justice Moses, told Huntley his claim to have been "the last friendly face" the girls saw "was a lie which serves to underline the persistent cruelty" of his actions.
He added: "On the contrary, one of those girls died knowing her friend had been attacked or killed by you. After you had murdered them both, you pushed their bodies into a ditch, stripped them and burned them, while their family searched for them in increasing despair.
"And, as Kevin Wells called out their names, you pretended to join in the search. Three days later you demonstrated the extent of your merciless cynicism by offering that father some words of regret. Your tears have never been for them, only for yourself."
