ITV This Morning viewers baffled by 66-year-old sperm donor who has fathered 129 children

ITV This Morning viewers were left puzzled by a 66-year-old guest on Friday's show.

Retired teacher Clive Jones joined hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on the sofa claiming to be the 'world's most prolific sperm donor'.

Clive Jones, who was told he is 'too old' to donate to an official sperm bank, gives his sperm away for free on Facebook to help those who are unable to conceive.

So far Clive has fathered 129 children - with another nine on the way.

Speaking to the This Morning presenters, Clive explained why he does it: "I feel sorry for these people. It's just about helping them.

"The reward and the messages I get makes it all worth it."

Clive then talked through the process of how he delivers his "magic stuff".

"People will contact me through Facebook when they're ovulating. Then it's my job to get there that same day," the 66-year-old said.

"I pull up in my van a street away, pull the curtains round, produce the donation and then I give them a call and say I'll be round in a few minutes," the 66-year-old explained.

"It's as simple as that. Two weeks later I might get a message to say it hasn't worked so we go again."

Dermot then asked Clive if he is legally the child's parent.

"I would estimate that about half of them, I am the legal father. If the couple is married I'm nothing other than the DNA, but if they're not then legally I am the father."

But the segment left viewers of the show baffled, with many struggling to understand how the process is allowed.

"Is what Clive has been doing legal? He said that a lot of them are single or same sex relationships, so he is legally their father, wouldn't want to see his child support bill with 129 children and 9 on the way," one viewer wrote.

"It just feels like a bit of a god complex to me. It’s different helping out friends that may need a sperm donor. But to have 100’s of your kids out there is a bit creepy tbh," another said.

"What happens in the future if two random people fall in love and then find out they are from the same sperm donor? Risky business," a third questioned.

"Oh my gosh, imagine how many donor children are linked by this man. He’s doing a great thing, but not by those numbers," another agreed.

"Sperm donors should not be advertising on Facebook or any other unregulated platform #ThisMorning," another viewer stated.
