This Morning viewers were quick to comment on social media as a 'joke' they made just 24 hours earlier became a reality. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (March 15) for their penultimate show of the week.
The hosts had another busy programme on their hands but it was cut short. The usual two-and-a-half-hour programme, which usually airs between 10am and 12.30pm, was shortened by 15 minutes due to the Chancellor delivering his Spring Budget.
Following a game of Guess the Gadget to round off the show, Holly confirmed the show was ending early as she said: "We are finishing a little bit earlier today for the Spring Budget announcement which is up next." Phillip then sarcastically quipped: "Have a lovely budget," as Holly giggled and Phillip grinned at the camera.
But earlier in the show, the presenting duo and close pals were joined by Ferne McCann who made an emotional appearance live in the studio ahead of the return of her ITVBe series, Ferne McCann: First Time Mum, in which she addresses the voice notes scandal that hit the headlines towards the end of last year.
Also on the show, David Domoney was live from the This Morning Forest with his top gardening tips and it was John Torode who was in the kitchen with his one-pan roast leg of lamb with a herb crust cooked over potatoes.
And as the MasterChef judge joined the programme to show off his family-friendly dish, viewers couldn't help but jump onto social media after noting that Holly and Phillip were joined in the studio yesterday (Tuesday, March 14) by a couple of baby lambs and a sheep ahead of spring and to mark the start of lambing season.

During Tuesday's show, This Morning had sent Josie Gibson off to a farm to present a segment on the start of lambing season. However, it wasn't just Josie who was getting up close and personal with animals as Holly, 42, and Phillip, 60, were joined in the show's 'green room' by a sheep and two lambs.
At the end of the chat with the animal's handler, it was agreed that the hosts could name the lambs and chose to name them after their mums, Lynne and Pat, ahead of Mother's Day this Sunday (March 19). This Morning then headed off to a break, giving Holly and Phillip time to get sorted and ready to continue on with the show after their animal encounter.
However, as cameras went back into the studio, Phillip was keen to check in on his co-star and friend as he revealed that Holly had been left 'cornered' in the studio by one of their farmyard guests. Appearing in the kitchen for today's cookery segment, Phillip confirmed: "We have thoroughly washed our hands. We are washed."
He then asked: "Are you alright by the way?" to which Holly replied: "Yes I am fine. I am fine. You know I am a big old wimp. Bigger than Bailey, essentially, and I get a little bit...." As Phillip then remarked: "I wish we'd got a camera on when we finished the item and the sheep actually got you in the corner."
Holly explained: "It actually did. It got me in the corner and went 'maaah' breathing hot sheep breath straight into my face and it did make me a little bit jumpy." Wanting to move on, she turned to Juliet Sear, who was ready for her 'no-bake' baking segment, Holly said: "But anyway, we have cake now!"
