This Morning fans were quickly commenting on social media following the latest purse-busting segment. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were again back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Wednesday (November 16) and they were looking ahead to Christmas with Steve Wilson.
Steve joined the hosting duo in the studio with a variety of advent calendars viewers can snap up this year with just a couple of weeks to go until December 1. However, it's not longer just about chocolate being behind those daily doors.
Consumer presenter Steve talked Holly and Phillip through a selection of calendars from a reasonable £8 to an eyebrow-raising £95. The cheapest calendar on display was a biscuit calendar from Marks and Spencer but viewers were shocked by the highest-priced calendar, which was a £95 Lovehoney calendar, which contained some ‘adult’ items.

There was also Laithwaites Wine advent calendar, which would set shoppers back £79.99, a Bird & Blend Tea Advent for £38 and a Cheese Advent Calendar which was among the cheaper options at £10 from Morrisons
But it was the prices that appeared to stop This Morning viewers in their tracks as the flocked to social media to complain. @Mabel_Mouse_ tweeted: "£80 for an advent calendar? They’re so tone deaf. That is the whole budget for some people’s Christmas. Read the room fgs. #ThisMorning."
@billfraser6 said: "Ridiculous prices under current circumstances for a calendar." @Crazier posted: "#ThisMorning £80 for an advent calendar…that would feed 4 people at Christmas and give them somewhere warm to go." @Mabel_Mouse_ added: "£95 for a sex toy advent calendar? Do behave. #ThisMorning."
Discussing the more raunchy offering, Steve said: "We are doing adult advent calendars and this is no exception. In my 16 years on the show, this is probably, no pun intended, the hardest thing I'm going to have to try and explain to you."
To which Holly coyly said: "Steven Wilson." And while Steve was unable to go into detail on air on what the calendar provides, he was able to show off a blindfold, a tickler, and scented petals. However, it appears December may get off to an interesting star
Holly said: "Door number one gets you off to a cracking start." Before Steve added: "It says guaranteed to give you both a buzz this Christmas and then in brackets... waterproof."
