It's been some week for Rylan Clark in the This Morning studio. The presenter is co-hosting with Ruth Langsford as regular show stars Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield enjoy their annual summer break.
On Monday, as he kick-started his return to the ITV sofa after being away from his old colleagues for the past few years, he was the victim of a cruel prank involving a snake, which is one of his biggest fears, and he ended up 'walking off' the set.
And today (Thursday) he was forced to revisit the harrowing moment when regular contributor Gyles Brandreth turned up for a segment wearing a jumper which was adorned by a giant green snake.
Rylan had been recalling a harrowing memory on Monday that had taken place on August 14, when a snake slithered into his house.
He admitted he was not a fan of the creatures, which then gave Ruth an idea to have a joke at the Eurovision presenter's expense.
After launching a pet snake at the star, Ruth was left in tears and Rylan was so upset he stormed off - but, of course, it was all in a light-hearted manner for the two co-hosts, who have been having a ball together presenting all week.
And today, the former X Factor star was confronted with his fear again - though this time round he didn't let out any huge screams, like he did on Monday.
As Gyles sat down for This Morning's View segment, he was wearing one of his typically colourful and quirky jumpers he's known for, but today it was featuring a green and yellow snake.
Gyles told Rylan he'd worn it "specially" for him and he didn't want him to be apprehensive as he was hoping to help him get over his fear.
Gyles joked: "I wore it specially for you, a kind of aversion therapy."
As the two had a comical and very tongue in cheek exchange about the snake, Rylan was forced to shout at members of the crew to "stop it!" as they started playing snake sound effects to remind him of his previous terror.
After the jokes, Rylan agreed with Gyles that it was just the "little slithery ones" he has a problem with, as he added: "A big one like this, I'll absolutely handle, don't you worry, Gyles."
Elsewhere on the show, Ruth ran off the set in tears to find a tissue after a moment she shared with Rylan during the commercial break.
She was left in tears of laughter as she explained to viewers that Rylan performs some comedy routines for her during the adverts, as he does his best impressions of Ronan Keating.
Fans have been loving the obvious good relationship between Ruth and Rylan, prompting calls for them to appear together more often.
