ITV This Morning's Rochelle Humes was 'close to tears' she was told to 'shut up' baby son on flight

Rochelle Humes has spoken about the moment she was left 'close to tears' while on a flight with her family. The singer-turned-presenter was hosting This Morning on Wednesday (August 31) when she made the shocking revelation.

She and co-host Vernon Kay were leading the ITV daytime show's daily 'This Morning's View' segment in which they are joined by two guests to discuss the latest news headlines. One of the topics brought up during the debate was that of adult-only flights and whether or not child-free journeys in the air should exist.

This led to Rochelle sharing her own experiences of jetting off with her own children. The former Saturdays singer shares three kids - daughters Alaia-Mai, nine, and Valentina, five, and 22-month-old son Blake - with her singer and DJ husband Marvin Humes.

She revealed there was an incident where she was on a flight with her son. Rochelle, 33, said that while her two girls are good fliers, her son Blake was "not so" good with flying and during the particular incident was teething and therefore upset and unsettled.

As Blake cried during the flight, which Rochelle didn't specify when or where to, the host revealed she was left taken aback and emotional herself when a fellow passenger asked if she was going to "shut up" her child, as she struggled to soothe him.

"Before I had children I was kind of I suppose in that camp," she admitted, referring to those who would probably like to see adult-only flights. Rochelle went on: "However, it didn't really bother me, I'd have my headphones in, I'd watch a film, I'd get my head down. If I heard it, it's someone else's problem right?

"But since having a little one, my two girls are very good fliers but my son not so much. I had a flight where a guy sort of said something to me like, 'aren't you going to shut him up?'. I was that close to bursting into tears because I feel for the parents."

Rochelle admitted that her emotional response was visible at the time, telling her fellow flier that she was "really trying" to stop her son from crying. "There is nothing worse… I didn't even know my child, he was teething and I was like, 'I don't even know how to settle him myself,'" she added.

Last month, Rochelle was left in tears over a sweet note from her daughter after she admitted to feeling 'mum guilt'. She took to Instagram to share a note Alai had written for her after finishing her day at This Morning where she has been working on-and-off over the summer in the absence of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

At the time of the note, Rochelle had not long returned home from days away from home in Manchester where she was filming the upcoming series of ITV's Ninja Warrior. The youngster had panned "Super Women" on one half of a piece of paper before writing her mum a note. "Dear my super woman, I love you sooo much," it started.

"You work so hard to make sure we have everything we own. We all love you so much. I am so lucky I have a mum like u! Love you lots from Alaia."

Sharing the image of the message to her millions of Instagram followers, Rochelle said: "I’ve been working a lot over the past few weeks since the kids have been off of school which I really try not to do, I had a bit of secret Mum guilt…just got in from work to this." She then added: "My heart is SO full…okay I’m off to go cry now…"

Rochelle and Marvin's adorable children recently witnessed their mum and dad celebrate their 10 years of marriage by doing it all over again. The loved-up couple pulled out all the stops as they renewed their wedding vows last month in a stunning location in Lake Como, Italy.
