Andi Peters didn't hold back during his last appearance of the week on This Morning. The ITV star has been hosting the popular daytime programme alongside Rochelle Humes. They have been the latest duo to host the show amid the changing summer line-up in the absence of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
And it may have been a good time for the new hosting pair to wrap it up as Andi, 52, made a brutal dig at Rochelle's singing past while hosting their last show together on Friday (August 19). During the final show of the week, the cast of West End musical Six appeared live on the shop to perform a mix of the big songs from the musical.
After they sung their hearts out with tracks including Ex-Wives and Six, Andi and Rochelle appeared back on-screen and shared their excitement and support for the actors. "Oh my goodness me, ladies, thank you so much," said former singer and star of The Saturdays Rochelle.
The pair then burst into song before Rochelle, 33, declared: "I wanna be in this band," which led to Andi quickly replying with a stinging jibe as he said: "Because they're better than the last one." As he laughed, Rochelle pushed him off camera as she laughed and said: "Fair!"
She then got closer to his face and said: "How dare you?" Andi tried to wriggle out of is by saying he was dancing to one of The Saturday's tracks in the green room before she pointed at him and said: "Divorce!" The pair then swiftly threw to a break but things weren't quickly forgotten.
"Welcome back," Rochelle exclaimed before asking Andi if he was okay. The TV star then said: "I'm just kind of finishing off the 'divorce, beheaded, survived." Rochelle chimed: "Just," before adding: "After what you said to me, just."
And it wasn't Andi's first awkward moment in the show. At the start of the programme, he and Rochelle told viewers what was coming up on Friday's show and teased the cooking segment which was today with Rustie Lee. The TV chef was stoof in the kitchen chatting about what she'd be whipping up for them later when Andi emotionally shared how he had followed her career closely.
He said: "I'm not going to lie, I'm slightly giddy. When I wanted to get into television when I was much younger, Rustie was on TV-am and I used to watch you. Genuinely, I'm quite emotional because you inspired me."
The TV chef was touched by his kind words and walked over to try and give him a hug, however as Rustie approached Andi, he recoiled and refused to hug her. "I don't want to hug you though," he exclaimed as he stood up and moved away. "I don't do hugs. You two can hug, if you want to hug. I'm not a hugger," he added, gesturing to Rochelle.
Rochelle was left visibly shocked and while Rustie giggled over the encounter, the presenter stood up to walk over and hug Rustie herself, saying she didn’t understand why Andi had refused. But seeing Rochelle's gesture, Andi then stood up and hugged Rustie anyway.
However, This Morning fans at home were still left unimpressed by Andi's response and took to social media to complain. @Sheknowsbest2 tweeted: "#ThisMorning Sooooo weird and not funny...not hugging #rusti thank god for @RochelleHumes..so so weird." @UzoObiorah fumed: "He is rude. It wasn’t funny . Hugging her afterwards was just silly. #ThisMorning."
