Miriam Margoyles is known for speaking her mind and while many are left shocked by some of her statements others claim her as a national treasure. The 81-year-old didn't disappoint when it came to straight talking during an appearance on ITV's This Morning, leaving hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby mortified.
Sharing her advice on dating, clothes and even asking one caller if they were 'as fat' as she was, before advising them to "lose weight', she didn't hold back going on to swear live on air. Telling a story about how she never wears shorts to auditions after her agent made her promise she wouldn't in the future, she continued that people shouldn't wear what they want to work.
However, host Holly disagreed. “I think it’s very rude of person to suggest what you should wear, you should wear what you like shouldn’t you,” she said innocently. According to the Mirror, Miriam whole-heartedly disagreed.

She then called out a crew member for wearing a skirt that was “too short” as it only just covered her “*****”. "No when you go to an audition you’ve got to wear what is acceptable. I mean one of the ladies who works here, she's just wearing a p***** pelmet," she declared, before adding: "It's far too short!"
Holly gasped in horror as she hid her face and Phil Schofield swallowed a laugh, as he asked: "Well who was that?" assuming that Miriam wouldn't know them by name. However, Miriam replied: "She's a lovely girl. Ella."
He gaped at Miriam, as Phil turned round to look apologetically at Ella off-screen. He replied: “Yes Ella’s over here.” He urged the camera crew not to show her skirt on-screen to embarrass her further: “Do not point the camera at Ella, do not point a camera at Ella, you look gorgeous.”
“She does look gorgeous, but it’s too short,” Miriam added. In an attempt to save the mood, as Ella could be seen laughing off-screen – with her skirt out of view – Holly said: “I don’t think my skirt is too different, I think we’re twinning here.”
“I’m glad you’re covering it with the bit of paper,” Miriam said, as Holly and Phil broke into laughter. The surprising comment came after Miriam's chaotic interview earlier on the show, when she suggested a caller should join Grindr and admitted she had been unfaithful in her relationship "many" times.
