Alison Hammond said she was "devastated" as she confirmed her colleague's departure.
The This Morning presenter took to Instagram to issue the tribute as she prepares to front today's show alongside Dermot O'Leary. The two will take over from Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby today to front another jam-packed edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme.
She has taken to social media to issue a tribute to the show's digital producer, Ella Bates, after she confirmed her exit. Alison shared a snap with her 1.3m followers of the two together on the day This Morning broadcast from Coronation Street to mark the crowning of the King.

She said: "I'm absolutely devastated that Ella Bates is leaving, she has been a breathe of fresh air every single day." Josie Gibson has also shared an emotional tribute to their departing colleague.
She said: "The day we all got caught in the rain at @coronationstreet while filming @thismorning and then the sunshine came out....when I say sunshine I mean @ella.bates beautiful face..
"Ella I am so so sad to see you leave us. You lighten up any room with your magical energy. You are Golden my friend and your going places with that special energy of yours. I know you're going to live out your dreams but we are going to miss you so very much."
This Morning stars flooded the comments to send messages of support.
