ITV This Morning fans spot problem with Spin to Win replacement game

This Morning is saying goodbye to their Spin to Win game and fans aren't happy.

Despite the game causing controversy over changes it made to help with the cost of living crisis, it seems fans aren't too impressed with its replacement. Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary announced the changes in the show today.

They said that there would be a new competition introduced in its place - '12 at 12' will give viewers the chance to win up to £12,000.

Alison advised that the competition is open and it will first be shown on Monday's epidode at midday. Entries cost £1.50 a go but there will be a "guaranteed winner" each day.

Before the show airs, you can enter online where you'll have 30 seconds to select which This Morning presenter you think is missing from a photo. Phil and Holly will then call one lucky entrant live on air, who will win £6,000 when answering the phone. They then have the chance to win even more cash during the game.

But fans were fuming over the show replacing a free game with one that you need to pay for to enter. They vented their frustrations on Twitter.

One user wrote: "So no spin to win replaced by a paying game… #thismorning". A second added: "#Thismorning I'd rather have Spin to Win back... I'm not paying."

Michelle said: "Cost of living crisis .... This Morning 'Lets take away FREE spin to win and add a game they have to pay for' ...Brilliant idea, thinking of the viewers I see. @thismorning #ThisMorning."

Back in September, as a result of the current rising energy prices, ITV bosses added a new prize to the Spin to Win wheel. The show would pay the winning player's energy bills for the next four months.

Introducing the game, Phil said: "This week we’ve got our usual cash prizes, but you could also win some extra cash to pay your energy bills until the end of the year. That’s four months of energy bills taken care of." Holly added: "Wow, that’s very important right now."

But the move was heavily criticised by viewers. As a result the game was soon changed back to it's original format.
