ITV This Morning fans issue demand as Lee Mack hijacks hosting duties from Holly and Phil

This Morning viewers issued a demand as Lee Mack hijacked hosting duties.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned to front Tuesday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme. They interviewed the Southport comedian about his new show Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof.

Lee hosts the BBC programme alongside Holly and he said it felt "odd" to be interviewed by his co-host and her regular broadcasting partner. He joked: "It feels like me and you have had an affair and now you're back with your real husband."

Holly gave an insight revealed she was the more organised person of the Freeze the Fear co-hosts as Lee required the use of three rental cars as he kept on losing the keys. This left Phil in disbelief as he claimed it was a role reversal from his relationship with Holly. He joked: "it's a wonder you ever got the thing made.

Lee remained in the iconic studio following his interview as the Holly and Phil hosted the Spin to Win feature. He spun the famous wheel and read Holly's lines from the autocue, which left the presenter in stitches as she admitted it felt "weird".

Viewers following the show on Twitter were in hysterics at Lee's appearance and called on him to return to This Morning.

Victoria said: "Lee Mack to be guest presenter"

Kougan added: "Lee Mack to replace Phillip permanently please"

Chris commented: "Lee Mack thank you so much for cheering me up today! You need to be a permanent fixture"

Paul posted: "Always great to see #LeeMack cause ructions on Live TV."

Danni posted: "You have to admit Lee Mack hanging around on @thismorning for no reason is just hilarious"

Helen tweeted: "Lee Mack on @thismorning is making me feel so much better in my sick bed love him!"

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub
