Dr Michael Mosley has shared four food groups people should reduce from their diet to achieve their weight loss goals.
Summer has arrived and people will be searching for methods to lose weight as warmer weather hits the UK. Dr Mosley is renowned for offering diet tips and his methods have proved increasingly popular over the years.
The health guru, who regularly appears on This Morning, is an advocate of the Mediterranean Diet, which he explains as "cutting right down" on four food groups - as North Wales Live reports.

He said: “Cut right down on sugar, sugary treats, drinks and desserts. That includes most breakfast cereals, which are usually full of sugar, as well as most commercial smoothies. Minimise or avoid starchy carbs – meaning the white stuff: bread, pasta, potatoes and white rice.
"Switch instead to whole grains including bulgur (cracked wheat), whole rye, wholegrain barley, wild rice and buckwheat. Brown rice is okay. Legumes such as lentils, kidney beans and chickpeas are healthy and filling, too."
The nutrition expert is the founder of The Fast 5:2 diet, which recommends consuming 500 calories on two days of the week. People following this diet do not calorie count on the other five days. However, the TV has explained a "clever twist" and advised switching “to a low carbohydrate, Mediterranean-style diet both on the days when you are fasting and when you are not”.
He added: "“That means more olive oil and nuts, as well as plenty of eggs, full-fat yoghurt, oily fish and vegetables. Make sure you fill up on protein and veg on your fasting days. Protein is very satiating and you can eat a lot of vegetables for very few calories.”
