ITV The Chase's Paul Sinha rumbles contestant's TV past

Paul Sinha rumbled a contestant's TV past on today's episode of The Chase.

The Sinnerman was taking on four new quizzers on Monday's edition of the popular ITV gameshow.

Bradley Walsh welcomed Amanda, Alan, Paawan and Tom, who were testing their wits against The Chaser in a bid to win a cash prize.

Paul put in an imperious showing as Alan was the only player to proceed to the Final Chase from the first three contestants.

Tom was up in seat 4 and The Sinnerman thought the International tax director from Solihull looked familiar.

He said: "I'm not surprised with you because you seem familiar. I don't know if I've seen you on a TV game show or Frans Hals' painting, The Last Cavalier."

The 41-year-old confirmed Paul's suspicions and revealed he had previously appeared on episodes of Bargain Hunt and Countdown.

He said: "I lost on both. If I break my record or continue with it, either way is good."

Tom had built up £7,000 in an impressive cash-builder, but was eventually caught by The Chaser in a nail-biting head-to-head.

The Sinnerman faced off against Alan in the Final Chase, who was competing for an overall £9,000.

The retired IT consultant built up 18 steps in the last round and The Sinnerman was unable to catch him - meaning he left with the cash prize.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
