ITV The Chase's Darragh Ennis makes Twitter plea to fans during show

The Chase's Darragh Ennis made an honest plea to fans on Twitter while Friday's episode aired.

Fronted by Bradley Walsh, The Chase sees four members of the public who have never previously met form a team in the hopes of taking home large sums of money. The four go up against one of Britain's biggest brains as they try to outrun the Chaser.

Episodes air weekdays at 5pm on ITV, and many viewers tune in daily to see how contestants fare against whichever Chaser is selected.

This week's final instalment of the popular quiz show saw a shakeup to its usual format. Bradley Walsh hosted a special edition in which celebrities work as a team to try to win money for Unicef.

The famous faces taking part were Lianne Sanderson, Dion Dublin, David James and Shaun Williamson. The special episode of The Chase forms a part of Soccer Aid.

As the episode got underway, Darragh aka The Menace, who was the chosen Chaser for the show, took to Twitter to ask something of his fans. He said: "#TheChase for @socceraid is on @itv now! But it's for charity so if you can, please donate".

The main Soccer Aid event takes place on Sunday (June 12). This will see celebrities and former professional footballers from England and the "rest of the world" take part in a friendly football match.

Since it was founded by Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes in 2006, Soccer Aid has raised more than £36m for Unicef.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
