The Chase host Bradley Walsh could not hide his shock as a Nottinghamshire day care owner went for the high offer during the ITV show. Roopam, from Beeston, was among four hopefuls hoping to win thousands of pounds taking on Chaser Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha on Wednesday evening, May 17.
However, things didn't quite go to plan. Host of the show, Bradley Walsh, could be heard asking Roopam where she wanted to start.
The options were -£5,000, £8,000 and £52,000, with the increased numbers also representing spaces closer to the chaser. Bradley said to her "8 or 52 what do you think?"

Roopam said: "52" to which a stunned Bradley replied "What?" Her fellow contestants, Gary, Jenny and Chester, could be seen to be shocked in the background, as she went on to explain: "52 absolutely.
"I'm here, I'm against Paul, I really want a good match and I'm going to do this." However, Roopam sadly didn't win the cash after a good effort.
Since her appearance on the show, many viewers have taken to Twitter to express their shock over her choice. One user wrote: "Unlucky Roopam, well done for going for it, you were a good player."
Another tweeted: "JEEEEZ was not expecting our Roopam to go high #TheChase." A third said: "How did that work out then Roopam?"
