ITV The Chase fans 'recognise' contestant from Coronation Street

The Chase fans thought they "recognised" a contestant during Wednesday's programme as many made the same comments on social media.

As ever, Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players to the ITV studio. They had never met before but joined forces in a bid to beat one of Britain's biggest brains and take home some cash.

They were John from Ashford, Summer from Sheffield, Bobby from Slough and Rachel from Cardiff.

John was up first against Shaun Wallace, also known as the Dark Destroyer, but unfortunately he was caught and left the studio empty-handed. Summer then had a decent cash-builder and made it back to the table with £5,000 after taking the middle offer.

Viewers watching at home praised her trivia knowledge, while some also thought she looked familiar. Many fans of the show compared her to a former Coronation Street actress.

Taking to Twitter, @MissLionHeart shared a photo of Michelle Keegan and simply said: "Summer #TheChase". Elizabeth said: "Summer reminds me of Michelle Keegan".

Dayjur said she "has a look of Michelle Keegan", and Lydia said: "Summer looks like Tina from Corrie".

Michelle Keegan played Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street from 2008 to 2014.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITVX
