ITV The Chase fans in tears at Lanarkshire contestant's unusual pastime

The Chase fans were left in stitches after a Lanarkshire woman revealed her unusual hobby on the quiz show.

Even Bradley Walsh was shocked when supermarket auditor Cat stepped up to take on the Chaser and let slip her favourite pastime.

Cat was the first member of the team to take on Paul Sinha, aka the Sinnerman, but was first asked by host Bradley Walsh to tell him a little bit about herself.

Cat told Bradley that she enjoys spirographing in her spare time, leaving the ITV host confused, responding: "What?"

A spirograph is a drawing toy that allows the user to draw patterns of cyclical curved lines.

"If you remember, back in the eighties they were quite big," Cat continued.

Bradley was stunned at Cats hobby (ITV)

She added: "I do big ones, like up to about A2 size. So I enjoy doing that."

After detailing her unusual hobby, Cat put in a good performance as she took back £9,000 to her team following a head-to-head.

Despite her good effort, viewers at home were more interested in Cat's hobby as they took to Twitter.

One joked about the old-fashioned nature of the toy, writing: "If she wins some money she could buy a Tiny Tears doll and Petite 990 typewriter to go with her Spirograph".

Another added: "Spirograph! B****r me."

A third tweeted alongside a smirking emoji: "She mixes in spirograph circles..."

Another was more surprised by Bradley's shock: "How does he not know what Spirograph is!! #TheChase"

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
