Vera has upped sticks and driven her famous Land Rover further south, as the cast and crew of the hit ITV drama make the switch from the North East to North Yorkshire to continue filming on series 13.
After an appeal for locals to appear as extras in the Tyneside shot scenes, there was great excitement when Vera leading lady Brenda Blethyn, her character's famous mode of transport and several co-stars were spotted on Newcastle Quayside on Monday, with production set up close to the Crown Court, on the street home to bars Head of Steam and The Hooch.
The Vera crew's arrival in Newcastle came after filming had already taken place in the likes of Wylam, North Shields and Gosforth since cameras went up on the new series at the end of May. Production on series 13 so far, has even extended to the Metrocentre, with shoppers getting a shock as they spotted cast members doing scenes in the Gateshead shopping complex.

And now the Vera team have travelled to North Yorkshire, with Brenda and returning TV sidekick David Leon spotted what locals described as 'a crime scene' close to a railway in the Redmire area, before they were also spotted filming in Bedale.
David's return to Vera, nearly a decade after leaving his role as Joe Ashworth, has delighted fans of the show. When co-star Riley Jones uploaded a cast photo from behind the scenes of series 13 and David was on it, the response from his Twitter followers was huge, as viewers speculate on what how capacity his character will return in, given that his original exit was put down to him getting a promotion.
