ITV's Lorraine Kelly gobsmacked by Eurovision Song Contest result prediction at end of show

Lorraine Kelly looked in shock as she read out a teaser about her show's upcoming Eurovision coverage and the news that the United /kingdom are tipped to do very well this year.

Long term fan of the annual event, like many others, ITV host Lorraine is looing forward to watching the Eurovision 2022 final on Saturday night and, like many current affairs shows, she will devote some time to talking about it on Friday, on the eve of the finale that Ukraine's are tipped to win, according to the Eurovision odds. But, one thing she clearly wasn't expecting to be saying, is the fact that the UK's Sam Ryder is tipped to do very well.

With TikTok star Sam putting in some serous work since being confirmed as UK Eurovision entry in March and having a great song in the form of the anthemic Space Man, he has been high up in the betting for the last few weeks, but after a draw in the second half of the final and a dazzling performance in Wednesday's jury run of Eurovision semi final 2, he is now second favourite.

And that's something Lorraine was struggling to comprehend as she wrapped things up at the end of her show on Thursday as she crossed to the This Morning studio to speak to Rochelle Humes and Phillip Schofield. Teasing what was coming on Friday, looking at her prompts on the tablet in front of her, the famous presenter said: "That's it for today. Angela Scanlon is on tomorrow, along with Eurovision legend Cheryl Baker ahead of this year's contest."

Lorraine then added: "And we've got a bit of a chance would you believe?!" as Bucks Fizz's Eurovision winner Making Your Mind Up Played in the background.
