I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! looks set to be broadcast earlier in the year because of the World Cup being held in Qatar this winter. It is understood the Ant and Dec hosted show could be broadcast from the end of October to avoid clashing with the international football tournament.
The World Cup’ starts on November 21, the date I’m a Celeb began last year, MirrorOnline reports. But this year, ITV bosses plan to start on October 30 and end on November 20.
One insider quoted in the Mirror said: “The best thing for viewers was to just avoid the clash altogether. The last thing anyone wants is for the audience to have to choose between the latest from the jungle and an England game.”
The show is set to return to Australia after two years in Castle, in North Wales, if Covid restrictions Down Under allow it. There are high hopes that England could perform well in the Cup after reaching the finals of the Euros last summer.
Last month ITV boss Carolyn McCall confirmed: “If we can go back to Australia – and this show is meant to be in Australia – then that’s what we’ll do.” The World Cup is also set mean schedule changes for the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, which could move to Fridays or to BBC2 when big games are on.
