ITV's Britain's Got Talent winner 'a dead cert' as semi finals start

Britain's Got Talent's semi finals start on Monday night and bookies have identified a clear favourite to triumph, with one act well ahead of their nearest rivals.

After being back on TV for close to two months, the long-running programme is now just a week away from crowning its latest winner, with the live shows whittling down the contestants left in the running. The first of those airs on ITV at 8pm on May 29, with BGT viewers still in the dark about just who has made it through.

The only acts that Britain's Got Talent viewers know for sure will appear as this year's Golden Buzzers and, after rules have been broken left, right and centre, there are now eight of those. Both Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli hit their button twice, with Alesha, Amanda and Ant and Dec also choosing one act act, before all four judges, after risking the wrath of a very vocal crowd, hit the buzzer for Musa Motha on Saturday's show.

The big favourite to win with BetVictor, at the time of writing on Monday afternoon, is Malakai Boyah, the young singer Simon first hit the Golden Buzzer for in the second episode of the new series.

Spokesperson, Sam Boswell commented: "“Choirboy Malakai Bayoh still leads the betting market as our 7/4 favourite. His odds have improved slightly as his odds were 11/4 when the market opened. He stunned the judging panel and viewers at home with his incredible performance in the first weekend of auditions.”

“He became Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer act and will be heading straight to the semi-finals. Malakai performed Pie Jesu as he took to the stage and impressed fellow judges Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon.”

“Joint second favourites are Ghetto Kids and Olivia Lynes at 5/1.They wowed Bruno Tonioli as he hit the Golden Buzzer for the Ugandan dance group during the performance in a first ever for the show, causing the kids to dance amongst the golden confetti.”
