ITV's Alex Beresford shares resurfaced photo of first-ever presenting job

Weather presenter Alex Beresford has shared a photograph of one of his first-ever presenter jobs with the BBC.

The Bristol-born TV star explained he "unknowingly" taught his son's class today after a video was used from one of his first on-screen jobs. Alex, 40, posted an image of his younger self from the BBC educational programme Curriculum Bites, comprised of revision videos on an array of subjects - many of which are still online.

Sharing a screenshot on Twitter, the former Good Morning Britain presenter tweeted: "I unknowingly taught my son’s science class today. My first ever presenting job was for @bbc. A spin off of #bbcbitesize called ‘Curriculum Bites’ for schools.

"Anyway he called to say I think it was you? Same voice but guy looked much younger with an ear piercing…"

But Twitter user @DoctorKiln dug out the actual video from the depths of YouTube claiming he often uses it to teach KS3 classes. The clip shows Alex alongside another presenter called Paula looking at circuits.

Many Twitter users were amused by the footage emerging. @Murielle4171 said: "You can always depend on kids to say it how it is … even if we don’t like it." @stevieb998 joked: "Hope there was no resistance to this broadcast?"

Alex recently bid farewell to colleagues at ITV West Country as he takes on a new role with the broadcaster back in March. He has taken up the newly-created role of live weather presenter on the extended ITV Evening News, presenting from the main studios in London.

He spent the past 17 years presenting the forecasts across the South West, alongside more recently a prominent role on Good Morning Britain. In April, Alex revealed that he is engaged to his girlfriend Imogen McKay having proposed on New Year's Day.
