STRADIVARIUS is rightly a warm order to get his title back in the Group 2 Paddy Power Yorkshire Cup (3.35) on Friday.
John Gosden’s star stayer lifted this contest in 2018 and 2019, but was absent for Spanish Mission’s success – the race fell to COVID-19 in 2020 – 12 months ago. Frankie Dettori’s mount was beaten behind Trueshan at Longchamp (Prix du Cadran) and Ascot (Long Distance Cup) on his final two starts of last season, but fast ground at York has caused his Alan King-trained rival to go elsewhere – and Stradivarius can take advantage.
Few juveniles have made a more impressive start this season than MIAMI GIRL at Newmarket last month. The Richard Hannnon youngster is the pick for the opening Listed Knights Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies’ Stakes (1.50).
