ITV Our House: Viewers react to 'ridiculous' second episode of Martin Compston drama

Gripping new drama series Our House returned for its second episode on Tuesday night for another hour of twists and turns.

The show centres on estranged husband and wife Bram (Martin Compston) and Fi (Tuppence Middleton), after the latter returns home one day to find that strangers are moving into her home after she supposedly sold it.

The series moves between the present day and back to couple's life in the house after they moved in, with the flashbacks teasing details about what may have happened.

Continuing where the premiere's nail-biting conclusion left off, the episode saw Bram frantically attempting to cover up his role in a serious car accident.

Meanwhile, in the present day, Fi also dealt with the revelation that her husband was apparently involved in the selling of their home without her knowledge.

One scene in particular had many viewers at home taking to Twitter to share their thoughts however, and it had nothing to do with the house.

Back in episode one, in a flashback, Fi discovered that Bram was having an affair with their neighbour Merle (Weruche Opia).

In Tuesday's instalment, Fi and Merle met up to discuss the situation but many people watching felt that the encounter was not realistic — particularly the moment when Merle offered to babysit Fi's children.

One said: "As if you would sit round a table with the woman your husband was having an affair with".

"How can she still sit with her knowing what she did," a second asked.

A third tweeted: "I really red to know WHY Fi forgave Merle and became bffs with her again"

Another pondered: "How can you still be friends with the woman who’s s*****d your husband?"

"I know you s*****d my husband and ruined our marriage but hey ho, let’s do lunch," joked a fifth.

A sixth stated: "As if she's out for lunch with the woman who her husbands dipping behind her back. No chance man who wrote this script?"

"I don't get why she hasn't knocked her friend out for her betraying," commented a seventh.

An eighth asked: "One for the Ladies. In your social circle, would you entertain the Jezebel you caught your Husband cheating with?"

Another admitted: "I’m watching #ourhouse on itv and I’m finding it hard to believe that a woman would knowingly still let the woman who her husband had an affair with babysit her children or am I missing something?"

"You're not missing anything. It's ridiculous," another user replied.

A second agreed: "I’m finding much of it hard to believe!"

Our House returns on Wednesday night at 9pm on ITV.
